Independence Worker Olivia Ball was successful in getting to the final 3 of the very first Nottingham Post Carer of the Year Awards 2016 in partnership with Boots.
Olivia was nominated by Alison Clarke (Chief Officer) for the Supporting Independence Award (Sponsored by AKA Case Management).
“Olivia is a young independence worker with Jigsaw Support Scheme, which was set up in 2000 to help vulnerable people in Mansfield get the vital support they need to carry on living at home.
Bosses say Olivia has excelled in her chosen career, and is an inspiration to service users and colleagues alike. Despite dealing with some very challenging behaviours, she is never fazed and always remains a calming influence on others.” – Alison Clarke
Colleague Lynn Wood says “Without her support and input, some service users would not be able to continue living independently – and where other carers may have walked away, Olivia has shown true dedication.”
Olivia, Lynn Wood (Registered Manager) and Lorraine Ball (Independence Service Planner) attended the red carpet event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Thursday 17th March 2016.
Overall 11 awards were presented and dozens of stories that highlighted each finalists skills and why they had been nominated were heard by all those in attendance.
Jigsaw would like to congratulate all of the finalists and winners for each award.
