Recruitment Process

We aim to run an inclusive volunteering programme, which is open to all. We particularly welcome applications from people who have or have been affected by support issues.

Our process of recruitment is:

Application form

All volunteers applying will be asked to complete an application form (Word 70KB) for consideration. If you are interested in more than one role, you only need to complete one application form. We aim to reply to all applications within five working days.

Informal meeting

All potential volunteers will have an informal meeting in the first instance.  The purpose of this meeting is to have a discussion about the role and to find out more about you and how we can support you. You may be asked to complete a DBS check (DBS replaces CRB checks) depending on the role.

References

If the outcome of this is positive, and you would like to volunteer, we will then undertake two references. This could be from your employment or education. We will also accept a reference from a friend you have known for longer than two years. References from family members are not suitable.

Induction

All volunteers will be provided with an induction when they start. You will be introduced to other volunteers and staff members, and also provided with training to ensure you understand your role. Jigsaw places a high priority on training. In addition to our own training you will be supported to access further training if you wish.
